Hincapie Racing Team is fortunate to have a great sponsor like Fleetwood. They provide a “pimped out” motor coach for the team to travel in and have at all races. When race spectators come to the team area to see the riders they are immediately taken back at the size and grandeur of the motor coach and want a tour.
This is a home away from home of sorts for the team while they are traveling and at races. Most teams that race at this level don’t have an air conditioned Coach to hang out in before and after races.
The coach provides us the opportunity to wrap the vehicle with Team artwork and Sponsor logos. When traveling down the highway it is unmistakable that this is the official vehicle for the “Hincapie Racing Team”.
But before the coach can hit the road it must be wrapped with said artwork and logos. Gathering Sponsors for the team started in October 2014. Team director Thomas Craven knows all about the importance of sponsors.
Craven himself who raced for the infamous 7-Eleven race team has worked hard with others to garner an impressive list of sponsors ranging from Fleetwood, Michelin, Bonk Breaker, Zevlin, Carmichael Training Systems, and of course Felt Bicycles just to name a few. Branding is the name of the game for Hincapie Racing. The process of coming up with a Team Design includes input from the staff at Hincapie Sportswear, George and Rich Hincapie, Thomas Craven and a very talented marketing team who all worked together to come up with a team design that is used not only for the RV but three additional team vehicles, the official racing team jersey/bibshort, and various other marketing products.
Once the design is agreed upon then comes the tedious process of fitting the artwork into templates for the RV. Creative director Taylor Vandiver along with Fleetwood put in many hours producing the artwork to ensure when it is rolling down the road it gets noticed!
Artwork is then routed to the printer for transfer onto vinyl. Once the official print vinyl arrives then it is installed onto the RV which is not an easy task and takes 4 days to install.
The Coach pulled out last week headed to Cali for the big race in Redlands “Where Legends are Born”! Oh did I mention that our assistant team director Chris Wherry was a 3rd place finisher at Redlands in 1998! Just sayin’!!!

So if you see the “Hincapie Racing Team” big machine burning up the highway blow your horn and wave at Doege and Porter. Now you know how much work, time, and team effort went into making the Coach look fabulous!
