This year, I’ll be the longest serving rider on the team. There’s a lot of responsibility that comes with that, and I’m ready for it.
I’m excited for what this season will bring. We’ve got a lot of really talented guys, and once we all learn our capabilities, the puzzle will start to come together. In cycling, a lot of things happen really quickly, but you know things will work out one way or another. That’s because you have confidence in what you’ve been doing and the people you work with.
This year, I want to win. I want to be an integral part in every success of the team, whether that’s me getting a result myself, or whether that’s taking Murphy and Miguel to the front, or being there for TJ leading him up from the climb. Or even just getting bottles from the car. Whatever it is, I want our team to be successful. I want to reward the continued confidence that Thomas and Rich have had in me.
I’m very competitive. I’ve been racing bikes since I was 14. Every little success I’ve had has driven me to persevere. I’ve invested so much time, money, and energy to build myself up; now it’s time to prove that all that effort has been worth it.
