Four Days of Yellow at the Joe Martin Stage Race

Tour of Croatia Up Next

This past weekend was another podium of neon for the guys of Holowesko|Citadel p/b Arapahoe Resources. While one squad travelled from France to Croatia for the Tour of Croatia, another raced in Fayetteville, Arkansas in the Joe Martin Stage Race.

The weekend started off strong when Ruben Companioni won the first stage, with Brendan Rhim in second and Joe Lewis right behind in sixth. The team rode in defense of Companioni’s yellow jersey for the 100-mile second stage. While Silber Pro Cycling’s Alexander Cowan took the Stage 2 win, Companioni kept hold of the yellow jersey and the points jersey, and Rhim stayed strong with second in the GC.

In the short uphill time trial, Rhim crushed the competition, finishing with a time of 9:32 and actually eliminating nine riders due to his rapid ascent and the time cut. Companioni protected his yellow, and Rhim solidified his second place. In the final criterium, it was up to the team to prevent any other riders from endangering the titles. Aggressive riding and calm nerves delivered Companioni for the final yellow, while Bryan Gomez and Brayan Sanchez finished 4th and 9th, respectively. The team ended the weekend securing the overall team GC.

Next on tap is the Tour of Croatia April 17-22. The squad consists of TJ Eisenhart, Miguel Bryon, John Murphy, Andrei Krasilnikau, Fabian Lienhard, Andrew Dahlheim, and Nicolai Broechner.
